My name is Tyler Hepler and I’m an artist raised in Pittsburgh PA. My journey as a performer started in 7th grade when I was dared to audition for my school's musical and it has led me on such an incredible adventure. I was nominated for the Gene Kelly best actor award my junior and senior years of highschool, and when I won it my senior year I got to go to the Jimmy awards. At that time I decided to pursue a career in theater/storytelling, so I went to Penn State to study in their BFA Musical Theater program.

 

During my time at Penn State I learned so much about what it means to be a performer and a person. The intense training has helped prepare me for all of the journies I wish to go on, and I could not be more grateful to my professors and mentors. I was given the opportunity to work with incredible writers on their new works and with directors dedicated to bringing new life to classics. I found who I want to be as an artist, and I am so excited to take the skills I’ve learned into my professional career.

 

After graduating, I moved to New York, was in a first national tour, did some regional work, and decided it was time to go back to school and focus on expanding my skills. I am currently in the MFA Acting Program at Purdue, where I am grateful they encourage us to be working professionally as I continue my education.
